Asia-based private equity fund manager RRJ Capital and Temasek, Singapore’s state investment agency, are investing approximately US$600 million to anchor Kunlun Energy’s US$1.35 billion public capital raising. Kunlun Energy, a Hong Kong-listed unit of PetroChina, is a Chinese oil and gas exploration, development and production company. The company plans to build 15 liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants. Additional investors in the deal include China Investment Corporation, China’s sovereign wealth fund, which subscribed to US$50 million of the placement.
