Ukraine-based private equity fund manager Horizon Capital and Dutch development bank FMO have invested in Biofarma, a Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturer. The capital will be used to fund the construction of a new pharmaceutical plant with upgraded manufacturing lines and laboratory equipment in the Kyiv region. The transaction marks Horizon Capital’s second investment in Ukraine through its Emerging Europe Growth Fund II this year. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
