Global non-profit microfinance organization Accion International has invested US$3 million in Zonamovil, a Chilean provider of managed services for the wireless telecom market. Zonamovil, which operates under the name of Tiaxa, provides billing and rating services for prepaid mobile users along with financial and business intelligence services. Tiaxa plans to use the capital infusion to fund research and development, as well as operations that will allow it to improve its current suite of mobile financial services.
