In August 2020, Aqua Capital acquired Puravida, a Brazil-based vertically integrated manufacturer of food and health products, including vitamins, protein bars and powders, granola, seasonings, spreads and lotions.
With Aqua Capital’s support, Puravida designed and implemented an environmental and social action plan. The company developed a methodology to classify and approve external ingredient suppliers according to socio-environmental risks. In 2021, Puravida acquired 968 certified emission reduction units, each amounting to one ton of greenhouse gas emissions avoided. Puravida achieved carbon neutrality in 2022 and is set to become a certified B Corporation by 2023.
