Nainesh Jaisingh is a Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer at Affirma Capital, based in Singapore.

In 2019, Nainesh led the Management Buy-Out of Standard Chartered Private Equity, with about US$ 3.5Bn in AUM, six offices across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, and a team of 40 investment professionals, to create Affirma Capital. He had been a founding member of the business within Standard Chartered Bank (starting 2002) and most recently was the Global Head of the Principal Finance business of the Bank.

Between 2002-2013, Nainesh established and grew the Standard Chartered Private Equity business in India. During this period, Nainesh led the India business to create a consistently strong track record of marquee transactions and exits, while building a high calibre team. He was also instrumental in launching the Merlion India Fund, a joint venture between Temasek and Standard Chartered Bank, which returned 3.7x to its sponsors.

In 2013 Nainesh relocated to Singapore, and now leads the global business of Affirma Capital with direct oversight of the South-East Asia business. He Chairs the Executive Committee, Investment Committee, and Portfolio Management Committee of the firm.

With 33 years of experience in the Financial Services industry and 24 years as a Private Equity investor in the Emerging Markets, Nainesh has a long track record of successful partnerships with entrepreneurs and management teams to build leading businesses. He has led diverse teams and managed multiple global stakeholders to enable the establishment of Affirma Capital as a successful, independent entity.

Nainesh’s early career was with ANZ Investment Bank and ANZ Grindlays. He is an Engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), BHU, and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore.
