Emerging Capital Partners Exits MTN Côte d’Ivoire (Sub-Saharan Africa)

Emerging Capital Partners (ECP), a private equity firm focused on growth capital investing in Africa, has exited its investment in Côte d’Ivoire-based mobile network operator MTN Côte d’Ivoire (MTNCI) through Planor Capital International, a special purpose vehicle established to hold a substantial equity stake in MTNCI. ECP, which initially invested in 2007, received a reported cash multiple of 2.6x, with the investment returning over US$80 million. MTNCI, a subsidiary of South Africa-based communications company MTN, provides fixed line, mobile and internet services to subscribers.
