Ethos Private Equity Acquires a Majority Stake in The Eazi Group (Sub-Saharan Africa)

South Africa-focused private equity fund manager Ethos Private Equity has acquired a 65 percent stake in South Africa-based industrial equipment and services company The Eazi Group in a deal valued at ZAR1.6 billion (approximately US$97 million). The transaction was structured through Ethos Fund VI. Separately, Ethos has sold its entire stake in CQS Investment Holdings, a South Africa-based distributor of software products for the audit, risk management and financial reporting markets, to Johannesburg Stock Exchange-listed information technology service provider Adapt IT. Ethos originally acquired CQS in 2008 through Ethos Technology Fund I. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
