Actera Group Agrees to Sell Its Stake in Mars Cinema Group (CEE and CIS)

Turkey-focused private equity firm Actera Group has agreed to sell its stake in Turkey-based cinema operator Mars Cinema Group to Korea-based global cinema operator CJ CGV. The exit is part of CJ CGV’s acquisition of the company at an enterprise value of US$800 million. Other sellers in the transaction include Esas Holding, a family office, and individual shareholders Muzaffer Yildirim and Menderes Utku. Actera originally acquired Mars Cinema Group in 2010. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in May 2016.
