ADM Capital, an investment firm focused on recovery, special situations and event-driven opportunities in emerging markets, has acquired a controlling stake in Kazakhstan-based movie theater operator Chaplin Cinemas. The transaction was structured through two funds managed by ADM: ADM Kazakhstan Capital Restructuring Fund and Kazakhstan Growth Fund. Chaplin Cinemas will use the investment for geographic expansion and improving business processes. Chaplin Cinema’s network includes 17 movie theaters located across four cities in Kazakhstan.
