African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), a member of Old Mutual Alternative Investments, has acquired a 50 percent stake in Société d’Exploitation et de Gestion Aéroportuaires (SEGAP), a holding company for airport assets in West and Central Africa. AIIM invested through its third pan-African fund, AIIF3, which targets investments in power, transportation and energy infrastructure. SEGAP holds stakes in three concession companies operating five airports in Cote D’Ivoire, Gabon and the Republic of the Congo. Through the acquisition, AIIM—alongside SEGAP’s other shareholder, France-based engineering company Egis Group—plans to provide SEGAP with both strategic support and capital for expansion. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
