Aqua Capital, an agribusiness private equity firm focused on control investments in South America, has reached a final close for Aqua Capital Agribusiness Fund II at its hard cap with US$370 million in capital commitments. Investors in the fund include endowments, foundations, funds of funds, asset managers, pension funds, family offices and sovereign wealth funds. Nearly 30 percent of capital committed to the new fund comes from the U.S. endowment community. Overall, 60 percent of LP commitments come from North America, 20 percent from Europe, ten percent from the Middle East and the remainder from local Latin American investors. To date, the fund has completed four investments, all of them for controlling stakes.
