Artha India Ventures Reaches US$6 Million First Close for Debut Fund (Asia)

Early-stage venture capital firm Artha India Ventures has reached a first close for its debut fund with INR400 million (approximately US$6 million) in capital commitments. Investors in the fund include publicly traded companies, India-based family offices and high-net worth individuals. The fund launched in June 2017 with a target of INR2 billion (approximately US$31 million) in total commitments. The fund intends to make eight to ten seed investments per year and will reserve 50 to 60 percent of the corpus for follow-on pre-Series A and Series A rounds.
