Asia-focused private equity firm Baring Private Equity Asia has invested INR14 billion (approximately US$256 million) in Lafarge India, the Indian arm of French cement maker Lafarge, acquiring a 14 percent stake. The investment is intended to fund the expansion of all three of Lafarge India’s product lines: cement, aggregates and concrete. The transaction was structured through the US$2.46 billion Baring Asia Private Equity Fund V.
