GL Ventures, the VC unit of Hillhouse Capital, invested a CNY900m (USD130m) pre-series B round for Biren Technology, a Chinese artificial intelligence chip design company. Sky9 Capital, Gaorong Capital, Co-Stone Capital, and Shenzhen Haichuang Fund Management also participated, as did Jinpu Investment, a unit of government-backed Shanghai International Group. Qiming Venture Partners, IDG Capital, and Walden International led a CNY1.1b (approximately USD155m) Series A for Biren Technology in June 2020. Read more
