Hindustan Infralog, a joint venture between U.A.E.-based port operator DP World and the Indian government-sponsored National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF), has acquired a 90 percent stake in India-based integrated multimodal logistics company Continental Warehousing Corporation (CWCNSL) for a reported amount of US$400 million. The deal facilitates an exit for private equity firms Warburg Pincus and The Abraaj Group, along with development finance institution IFC. Warburg, Abraaj and IFC reportedly held a 60 percent combined stake in CWCNSL. The company’s founders, the Reddy family, will retain a 10 percent stake in the business and remain involved in operations. Warburg originally invested in CWCNSL in 2011 while Abraaj became a shareholder through its acquisition of Aureos Capital in 2012.
